A Message About the FEDA Annual Conference from FEDA's Membership Manager

Thank you for your fantastic support of FEDA’s 2023 Annual Conference! We truly appreciate the many dealers, manufacturers and business partners who are helping make this year’s event, which celebrates FEDA’s 90th anniversary, one of the most unique and rewarding attendee experiences ever. We will be at a brand new venue that’s perfect for ongoing one-one-one and group networking and - thanks to this year’s incredibly generous sponsors, advertisers and exhibitors - attendees will be treated to PGA championship golf and winner packages, beautiful and modern meeting spaces and exceptional speakers that include top international restaurant chain leadership and industry advocates, as well as our own dealer and manufacturer experts. To see the full and updated conference itinerary, please visit the conference schedule.

I am pleased to share this special 2023 FEDA Annual Conference Updates newsletter. Between now and the conference, you’ll see information about the expanding program and schedule, participation opportunities, hotel reservations, and more. Also, we are organizing a conference volunteer team to help FEDA carry out various activities during the conference, such as greeting and guiding attendees, supporting program sessions and the golf event, and facilitating roundtables and other discussion groups. If you would like to volunteer, please email me at isabelle@feda.com. Also, please let me know if you have not signed up to sponsor, advertise or exhibit at the event and would like to – we have several 90th anniversary opportunities still available!

Special Guest Presenters

Kevin Hochman serves as CEO and president of Brinker International, one of the world’s leading casual dining companies and home of Chili’s Grill & Bar and Maggiano’s Little Italy. Hochman is responsible for driving Brinker’s growth strategy, ensuring the company’s core values and culture are embedded in every restaurant. His keynote presentation at the FEDA Annual Conference will provide insight on the industry and how leaders can support their team and accelerate business growth.

Emily Williams Knight, president and CEO of the Texas Restaurant Association, will open the conference with a brief overview of the restaurant industry in the Lone Star State. She will discuss major trends and challenges facing foodservice operators, as well as the measures the association is taking to address these issues. Additionally, Knight will share updates on the advocacy initiatives the association is monitoring and supporting.

Few individuals can claim the breadth of knowledge and perspective of the global political climate as former White House Chief of Staff Gen. John Kelly. A retired four-star general in the Marine Corps who held prominent positions in the Trump administration, Kelly is skilled in providing steady and capable leadership even in difficult situations. He will share some of those experiences and lay out a foundation for successful leadership during a special guest presentation at the FEDA Annual Conference.

Industry Boot Camp Sessions

image

The audience won’t just be passively listening to the general session presentations – they will be more involved than ever. The 2023 conference will introduce new boot camp sessions that will divide the crowd into groups to drill down into specific subject areas, such as bid work, design, installation, large projects, and building strategic partnerships across the industry. These sessions will be moderated to actively engage the audience in the topics being presented on the main stage. Team leaders will be Dave Stafford of Stafford-Smith and Eric Chaplick of Boelter. Session facilitators will be Erica Motes of Ice-O-Matic and Teresa Asbury of The Legacy Companies.

Industry Roundtables

image

One of the great benefits of the FEDA Annual Conference is that it brings together decision makers from different parts of the FE&S industry, making it the perfect time to sit down and solve challenges together. The special roundtable sessions at the conference will help facilitate that process by enabling participants to pull apart two important industry topics to find real solutions and new ways to improve how the supply chain serves customers. Roundtable session facilitators will be Marc Tell of Sam Tell Companies, Nick Cribb of SAM Services, Dave Stafford of Stafford-Smith and Michael Keck of Concept Services.
